Comparing Different Types of Trailers - Introduction

I am going to begin by identifying the conventions of different styles of trailer by looking at teaser trailers, theatrical trailers and TV spots for two films from completely different genres - 'No Way Home' which is from the superhero genre and 'West Side Story', which is a musical. 

I have chosen to compare trailers from the superhero movie 'No Way Home' and the musical 'West Side Story' to see if the conventions of the trailers are similar even though the genres are different. 

This will help me get a better understanding of the general conventions of trailers that I will need to use when I produce my own, but it will also help me get a better understanding of the similarities and differences between theatrical trailers, teaser trailers and TV spots.

I am going to look at the trailers for 'No Way Home' first.
