My Chosen Genre - Horror

 

I have decided to do a marketing campaign for a film from the horror genre - but before I analyse some marketing materials from the genre, I am going to do some research into various conventions of the genre - including the following:

• Iconography and film language (including cinematography, mise-en-scene, editing and sound)
• Narrative structure
• Themes
• Character types
• Intended effect
• Famous directors and stars
• Sub genres/hybrids
• Franchises and sequels
• Some iconic films throughout the history of the genre
