My Chosen Production Companies
The three production companies I have chosen to produce and distribute my film, 'The Well', are Universal Pictures (who will act as a producer but will also distribute the film), Blumhouse Productions and Ghosthouse Pictures.
I have chosen Universal because during my research I have noticed that a number of the big Hollywood studios have started producing and distributing horror films, possibly because of the genre's continued popularity and that horror films are relatively cheap to produce (compared to superhero movies, for example) and turn a larger percentage profit at the box office. Universal have been making horror movies since the 1930s, so I felt that they have the experience and the financial clout to help get 'The Well' into cinemas.
The other two companies are probably the leading horror film producers at the moment - the majority of horror films released into cinemas today have the involvement of one or other of Blumhouse Productions or Ghosthouse Pictures.
Many of the films I have analysed across this blog have been made by one of these companies. Blumhouse Productions appear to have a close relationship with Universal, something which influenced my decision.
Throughout this post I have included some of the moving logos/idents for the companies, which I will use on my trailers, and some images of logos for my poster and social media site (and also on the end title cards of my trailers).
